Ethnic Consumer Spending on Cosmetics Twice As High as National Average – New Study From Sweden’s Trade Federation

Sweden’s morning newspapers Metro and Dagens Nyheter reports on an ethnic consumer study made by the Swedish Trade Federation on ethnic consumer spending. The study was conducted via web questionnaires with 178 people answering (58.4% women and 38.2% men, 3.3% didn’t answer).

The reports concludes:

  • The average spend per family on gifts for their children (toys) is SEK 7 000 (USD 970) on gifts for their children during the month of Ramadan.
  • The average spend on cosmetics is SEK 1 630 (USD 226) per year – twice as much as the national average.
